My name is Dorothy Slocum (Most people call me Shelly!), and I am a current undergrad at Regent University where I plan to major in communications with a concentration in journalism. My goal is to work as a reporter for a major newspaper. Outside of school and career goals, I love to weight lift, write, hike, and eat.
In July of 2016 and 2018, I participated in The Virginian-Pilot's Journalism Workshop, and I have since joined Regent University's student-run newspaper, The Daily Runner. I am currently the News Department Head and social media marketing head.
The Daily Bagel is a blog I keep going where I put my thoughts, poetry, random stories and anything else! I hope you enjoy everything here, from my serious thoughts to my crazy randomness.
