Scanning, searching, spotting stories; that’s how my brain
works. Walking around campus, most people notice the fountain and how the water
mists people sitting next to it, but I notice the people. That guy in the red
shirt has a different bike than yesterday, which is different than the day
before, and the week before that – He must collect them. That, or he just
crashes them and constantly buys new ones, either of which would make a great
People of Regent feature. Where most new journalists see a generic feature on
Spring Fest, but Sara sees it as the event where the Photography Club will be
debuting their People of Regent project. That is just how a journalist’s mind
works, and that is something I will always love.
The
lighting behind the Divinity Building is stunning, so naturally I have to get a
picture for The Daily Runner’s Instagram and Twitter and find some new,
interesting fact. I ask the guy working in there, and he says they just
repainted it. There’s another post to add to the collection of our many posts
that not many people notice, but it doesn’t discourage me. Writing and
journalism in general make me happy.
No
matter the circumstance, the tears, the pain, I always know that journalism can
make me happy and give me something to be proud of. It is improving upon these
skills that I love the most, finding new ways to become a better aspiring
journalist.
